First, the allergic cause must be defined, then observing 1 or more symptoms of nasal congestion, itchy or runny nose, and sneezing is important to diagnosing allergic rhinitis. Patients should be referred to a physician if patients have an inadequate response to pharmacological therapy, with or without environmental controls.
