Causes

There are various causes of allergic rhinitis. Pollen season causes individuals to be exposed to allergens. Seasonal allergies can be due to exposure to fungal spores or plant pollens, while perennial symptoms are associated with indoor allergens, such as cockroaches, animals, dust mites, and mold. Occupational exposure is also a cause, as smoke, fumes, and chemicals are associated with allergic rhinitis.
